Workshops offered at the arts center

Terry Barnhill, a master photographer with more than 40 years of experience and was a certified judge for the Professional Photographers of America, will facilitate two Saturday workshops for adults and teens at the Tuscarawas County Center for the Arts.
The May 4 workshop titled Words, Thoughts, Imagination and the Creative Process in Photography will focus on concepts to improve the work produced. The May 18 workshop titled Essential Photoshop will focus on using a few basic tools to improve the outcome of work.
Each photo workshop will be from 9-11:30 a.m. The cost is $20.
Melissa Gish will facilitate a hand-building clay workshop each Saturday in June from 10 a.m. to noon and will focus on creating clay objects using slab and coil construction and glazing techniques.
Dee Grossman will facilitate a wheel-throwing pottery class each Saturday in July from 10 a.m. to noon, and the class size is limited.
The total cost of the pottery workshops is $150 or $125 for art center members. The price includes clay, glaze and firing.
