Win a Car for Christmas rolls out Chevy Cruze as its 2016 prize
The wheels have arrived from the North Pole, and one fortunate recipient in the 2016 TAG Win a Car for Christmas giveaway will be cruising around in a Chevy Cruze.Chuck Nicholson Auto Superstore has just brought in this years Win a Car for Christmas model: a cherry red 2014 Chevy Cruze with 11,000 miles on it.The car will be given away as part of this years TAG giveaway, and as has been the case in the past, a committee will be assembled to sift through the many submissions to pick a winner.The giveaway is now under way and entry submissions must be made by Dec. 9 with the winner announced Dec. 19. Win a Car for Christmas is not a lottery, a drawing or a contest but rather a way for area businesses and individuals to reach out and help a local family during the holiday season.The intent of this program is to give the gift of a car to help someone who is in dire need of transportation. Past winners were either without any vehicle or maintaining a vehicle that was in extremely poor condition. This gifting program was created and continues in an effort to give a car to someone who could not otherwise receive a car. Before submitting a story, evaluate the level of need and give as much information about the candidate as possible, whether it is yourself or someone else.To tell your story, be sure to write a detailed story of several paragraphs in length to be considered. If you are nominating someone other than yourself, provide the name, address and phone number at the end of your story so they may contact you if there are any questions about your nomination. Applicants are asked to limit their stories to between 500 and 1,000 words. All applicants must be legal resident of Holmes, Wayne or Tuscarawas county.Those wishing to submit an entry for the Win a Car for Christmas contest must do so before the Dec. 9 deadline. Those considered for the prize will be individually interviewed so that judges can get a better handle on each candidates need for transportation. Nonfamily references will be needed for each entry.
