West Holmes BOE elects president, VP

The West Holmes Local Schools Board of Education met Monday, Jan. 8 at West Holmes High School for a regular meeting.
The board did the following during the meeting:
—Approved three updated policies.
—Approved the West Holmes High School course selection guide for 2024-25.
—Approved paying cafeteria subs the rate of $10.45 per hour, effective Jan. 1.
—Approved a resolution for West Holmes Local Schools Youth Art Month.
—Approved a resolution for West Holmes Local Schools Youth Music Month.
—Approved a memorandum of understanding with Kent State University.
—Approved the resignation of Zachary Gardner, head football coach, effective Jan. 5.
—Approved the transfer of Tabitha Hawkins from cook to paraprofessional, effective Jan. 3.
Other information
Millersburg Elementary Principal Renee Woods recognized spelling bee winners Eddie Butcher (first place) and Harley Moutoux (second).
Lakeville Elementary Principal Brian Zimmerly recognized spelling bee winners Mylo Lorentz (first) and Easton Blake (second).
During the organizational meeting, which took place before the regular board meeting, Pat Sage was elected president and Hans Ramseyer was elected vice president of the West Holmes Board of Education.
The next board meeting is scheduled for Feb. 19 at Killbuck Elementary.
