Wayne park district to hold meeting about levy Oct. 2

The Wayne County Park District will hold a public meeting regarding the levy on the ballot in the upcoming election on Wednesday, Oct. 2 from 7-9 p.m. at the Secrest Welcome and Educational Center, 2122 Williams Road, Wooster.
“This meeting is for voters who want to know more about the Wayne County Park District levy,” said Phil Grimm, Wayne County Parks commissioner and volunteer with the Citizens for Wayne County Parks Political Action Committee. “Attendees will learn about the new strategic plan developed by Wayne County Parks.”
The plan, called A Path Forward, emphasizes partnerships with several local organizations. During the meeting representatives from these organizations will give presentations to explain their roles in the plan.
In addition to these presentations, the Wayne County Parks commissioners will host a Q-and-A session to address any concerns or questions from attendees about the strategic plan or the levy itself.
Should the levy pass, the park district plans to expand its capacity by improving and maintaining existing rural parks and trails. Additionally, the district intends to offer nature education programs for schools and individuals alike.
