Warther to speak at library

Join the Tuscarawas Main Library on Tuesday, Jan. 30 at 6:30 p.m. to meet local author and carver David Warther. Warther will speak about his new book, “Working in Ivory, The Story of the Warther Carvers.”
Warther is a fifth-generation carver and a grandson of the late Ernest “Mooney” Warther. His carvings include ships from antique ivory, ebony wood and abalone pearl, having carved his first ship at the age of 6. His work is featured at his nonprofit museum David Warther Carvings near Sugarcreek, which also includes his workshop-studio.
A book-signing and Q-and-A session will follow the program.
The Tuscarawas Main Library is located at 121 Fair Ave. NW in New Philadelphia. Registration for this free event is required and can be completed online at www.tusclibrary.org or by calling the Tuscarawas Main Library at 330-364-4474.
