Walnut Hills Retirement Community recently honored 10 longtime team members for their service to the organization’s residents and families. The team members were recognized at a catered luncheon held at Wallhouse Hotel in Walnut Creek.

Phisamay Phaonesy of Millersburg and Darlene Gintz of Walnut Creek led the group recognized for service. Phaonesy has worked at Walnut Hills for 35 years while Gintz has served at Walnut Hills for 30 years.

Others who received 2022 Walnut Hills Service Awards included June Newell of Walnut Creek and Sandi Scott of Sugarcreek, both for 25 years of service; Cindy Beachy of Sugarcreek for 20 years of service; Rachel Gerber of Sugarcreek, Josie Kashuba of Killbuck and Sara Raber of Walnut Creek, all for 15 years of service; Lorie Lawrence of Fresno for 10 years; and Blenda Bailey of Tuscarawas for five years of service.

When honoring the 10 service award recipients in a recognition video, supervisors and fellow team members described the recipients as dedicated, creative, wonderful people who exude compassion, are friendly and warm-hearted, and are always willing to help others.

“The 10 individuals we honored represent more than 195 total years of service to the residents and families of Walnut Hills,” said Rob Aneshansel, executive director. “They are what makes us the best of the best. Each one of these team members does an amazing job each day of serving others, and we honor them for giving of themselves.”
