New Philadelphia VFW Post 1445 announced it is extending its Hometown Heroes banner program for another year. In a continuing partnership with the City of New Philadelphia, a new set of Hometown Hero banners will replace the banners presently displayed in the city center, which have been up for the past year.

The replaced banners will be moved to the Chuck Moorehead Memorial Garden, located at VFW Post 1445, where they may be viewed. The Hometown Heroes banner program is open to all veterans in Tuscarawas County.

The cost of a banner is paid by VFW Post 1445. To have a banner made, the veteran or a member of the veteran’s family needs to visit VFW Post 1445 with a sharp, nonreturnable photograph of the veteran, preferably in uniform, and provide some basic information about the veteran such as name, rank, branch, and when and where served.

The post is located at 441 Park Ave. NW in New Philadelphia.
