Tuscarawas County Board of DD hires director of operations, HR coordinator

The Tuscarawas County Board of Developmental Disabilities hired Christopher Yurick, of Fredericksburg, as the director of program operations effective. The director of program operations is responsible for overseeing daily operations and assisting the superintendent in operational planning and decision-making.

Yurick earned his bachelor's degree in psychology from Cleveland State University. Superintendent Natalie Lupi said, “Chris brings a wealth of management experience in the DD field, and we feel he will be a great fit with the Tuscarawas County Board of DD.” Yurick spent almost ten years working for Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities, where he was promoted twice. As economic development manager, he developed relationships and partnerships with a wide range of organizations and individuals to create economic opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Yurick also served as program manager for Cornucopia, Inc., where he improved the quality and doubled the number of vocational training programs offered. He began his career in the field as a vocational rehabilitation counselor for Ohio Rehabilitation Services Commission.

Lupi said, “His extensive background in employment and vocational training for individuals with developmental disabilities will allow us to take employment support to the next level. We are excited to have Chris join our team, and he is hitting the ground running.”

On Oct. 20, TCBDD welcomed a new human resources coordinator: Lynn Angelozzi of Uhrichsville. Angelozzi is a well-known name in Tuscarawas County, having spent 31 years at Tuscarawas County Job and Family Services, servings as director from 1998 through her retirement in 2011. Angelozzi then went on to be executive director of Leadership Tuscarawas before resigning to accept the position with TCBDD. Angelozzi said, “Joining the Tuscarawas County Board of Developmental Disabilities is a privilege. I look forward to working with the team who serves the citizens of Tuscarawas County.”
