The Lawrence Township office, for now, is open by appointment only. At the July 31 meeting of the Board of Trustees, Ann Ackerman, the township’s fiscal officer, said a staffing shortage is the issue.
The township is currently in need of an administrative assistant to help with office work. Once the position is filled, regular hours will be re-established and the office will be open for walk-ins.
For now, appointments can be made by calling 330-874-2731. An application for the part-time administrative assistant job can be found online at www.lawrencetownship.org at the employment tab.
Reports

Myers also reported that crews are performing asphalt repairs on Lawnridge Drive and ditching on Bardell Road, and that a second round of mowing along township roads has been completed.
Zoning Inspector Ron Weekley said a letter was sent to the owners of the old Dollar General building and lot regarding cleaning up the yard. Weekley has not yet received the certified letter receipt.
Trustees approved hiring a company to clean up the Dollar General lot at a cost not to exceed $800. The cost will be added to the owner’s property taxes.
Weekley said he has confirmed that people are not being charged to park vehicles along Arrowhead when attending ball games at the Massarelli Baseball Complex. He also reminded trustees there is still an open seat on the Board of Zoning Appeals.
