Garaway wrestling splits matches at Division III regional duals
Pirates win against Nelsonville-York, fall to Barnesville in Coshocton event.
The Garaway wrestling team competed at the Division III Coshocton OHSWCA Regional Duals Feb. 7 at Barnesville High School.
The Pirates won their first dual 42-35 over Nelsonville-York before falling 38-24 to Barnesville in the title match with a state berth on the line.
Bryce Books (106 pounds, pin), Lukas Miller (126, forfeit), Mitchell Tetreault (144, pin), Colton Domer (165, pin), Matt Frey (175, pin), Dillon King (190, pin) and Thomas Grimm (215, pin) won matches against Nelsonville-York.
Books (decision), Tetreault (decision), Domer (technical fall), King (major decision), Grimm (decision) and Bobby Bowers (heavyweight, pin) won matches against Barnesville.
Boys bowling
Garaway finished 13th out of 24 teams at the Div. II St. Clair Lanes Sectional Feb. 10.
Preston Weaver (158-206-153-517), Corbin Clymer (147-149-204-500), Ethan Specht (153-156-149-458) and Tyler Troyer (174-158-124-456) led the Pirates.
Garaway finished fifth at the Inter-Valley Conference Showcase Feb. 4 at Boulevard Lanes.
Clymer paced the Pirates with a 574 series.
Girls bowling
Garaway finished third at the IVC Showcase Feb. 4 at Boulevard Lanes.
Harmony Clymer led the Pirates and all bowlers with a 549 series.
