“Even though life doesn’t always go according to plan, it quite often ends up the way it’s supposed to go,” said Cathy Ballinger Brown, current foster care marketer for The Village Network, a nonprofit organization helping youth and families.

The program titled Why Didn’t Life Come with an Instruction Manual? will be held Wednesday, June 12 at 6:30 p.m. at Dover Public Library.

Ballinger Brown said she has learned a lot from her life experiences. She will give a foster sibling’s perspective on foster care and how it ended up being her life passion.

Ballinger Brown grew up in a small farming community and thought she had life all figured out. Shortly after graduating from the Ohio State University, she married the love of her life, had two children and became a special education teacher. She became a single mom when she lost her husband to colon cancer. After cofounding a cancer resource organization in Wooster, she discovered her true passion was helping children. She has found her niche working with The Village Network.

This program will be held in the community room at the DPL, 525 N. Walnut St., Dover. Register online at www.doverlibrary.org/events or call the library at 330-343-6123.
