Super soil for super gardens
Just in time for the season’s first flowers to appear and grass to revisit its lush green color, Bull Country Compost is introducing a new product — Hayseed Hank
Super Soil.
“This is the first product launch aside from our signature compost that we’ve had since we began in 1994,” said Tim Sigrist, who owns the company along with his parents, John and Linda Sigrist. “It’s a natural, all-organic, compost-infused super
top soil.”
Perfect for adding rich nutrients to whatever you grow, from flowers and plants to fruits, vegetables and grass, Hayseed Hank Super Soil is already flying off the shelves and receiving rave reviews from local homeowners and businesses.
Sigrist said the soil is so loaded with nutrients, you don’t even need to bother with fertilizer, which saves time and money. They came up with the perfect recipe for the new mix over months of numerous performance tests. The blend includes Bull Country Compost, screened topsoil, composted yard waste and a small amount of sand
for drainage.
“In addition to raised beds and gardens, the soil is also ideal for lawn patch repair and putting in new lawns,” he said.
Both Hayseed Hank and Bull Country Compost are available at most local garden centers. If you don’t see the bags on their shelves, feel free to give Sigrist and his trusty crew a call. For customer convenience, delivery is also available.
The Sigrist family-owned business began as a way to repurpose excess manure from the more than 200 head of dairy cows and heifers on their 300-acre farm in Dundee.
“For the past 22 years, we’ve earned a reputation of creating compost with a high nutrient profile, as it contains 100 percent animal manure,” pointed out Sigrist. “Many other brands have a high percentage of fillers. We don’t need to
do that.”
For area farms, the company also offers manure removal as well as rental availability for a compost lawn spreader truck, which is specifically designed to spread compost.
Bull Country Compost is located at 10316 Kohr Road NW in Dundee. Hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to
2 p.m. Bull Country Compost is Class III EPA inspected and approved. Call 330-852-4399 or visit www.BullCountryCompost.com for more information.
