Stuffed bears put to good use at Holmes Board of DD

Thanks to one very generous donor, there is an invasion of stuffed bears inundating the Holmes County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
An anonymous donor recently donated the bears to the Millersburg Church of God Food Pantry near West Holmes High School.
While leaders there told the donor they couldn’t give them out at the food pantry because they wouldn’t have enough to give to everyone, they did know exactly where the bears could make a positive impact.
“It was neat that they thought of us,” Kim Miller of the Holmes County Board of Developmental Disabilities said. “They’re adorable, and we can definitely put them to good use.”
The two entities have built a working relationship, with volunteers from the HCBDD volunteering to bag items for the food pantry. In return the food pantry goes out of its way to serve the HCBDD school kids whenever possible.
“The food pantry people are simply amazing to us here,” Miller said. “They send us food all the time, like chips, pretzels, cereal of a lot of other foods that they have plenty of, so it’s been a wonderful relationship for us, and we appreciate them greatly.”
For those seeking to make a year-end tax-deductible donation, the Millersburg Church of God Food Pantry and all of the other food pantries in the area are a tremendous way to make an impact on the people who rely on these entities to put nutritional food on their tables.
