Students awarded scholarships from the Tuscarawas County Community Foundation

Nineteen recently graduated high school seniors and two current college students have each received a $1,000 scholarship from the Tuscarawas County Community Foundation.

Two Scott Graham Memorial Scholarships were awarded. Thomas Kelly of Mineral City and Melissa Miller of Sugarcreek will continue their studies at Stark State in the fields of firefighting training and paramedic, respectively.

The foundation, through a donor-advised fund by the local Junior Achievement chapter, awarded scholarships to two Dover High School graduates. Alexander L. Aubihl of Dover will attend the University of Akron and study electrical engineering, while Andrew M. Bache of Dover will study accounting at Grove City College.

The Larry Frank Memorial Golf Scholarship was awarded to Amy Donato of Strasburg. The graduate of Strasburg High School is planning to become a golf coach through her studies at Muskingum University.

The following 16 students received Tuscarawas County Community Foundation Leadership Scholarships. These winners were chosen for the leadership shown in and out of school as well as their history of community service:

Austa Pearch of Uhrichsville, Claymont High School, education major at Muskingum University; Taylor Birney of Dennison, Claymont High School, biology major at Mount Union College; Evan Cameron of Dover, Dover High School, biology/pre-med major at Wittenburg University; Marcus Mamarella of Dover, Dover High School, accounting major at Baldwin-Wallace University; Cambrea Schlarb of Sugarcreek, Garaway High School, physical therapy major at the University of Indianapolis; Hannah Ghindea of Port Washington, Indian Valley High School, animal science major at The Ohio State University; Kayla Krocker of Tuscarawas, Indian Valley High School, undecided major at The Ohio State University; Kristen Fenton of Newcomerstown, Newcomerstown High School, biology major at Mount Vernon Nazarene University; Alexys J. Long of Dennison, Newcomerstown High School, nursing major at Mount Vernon Nazarene University; Zachary Denham of New Philadelphia, New Philadelphia High School, biomedical science major at The Ohio State University; Paige Goodie of New Philadelphia, New Philadelphia High School, undecided major at Miami University; Miranda N. Gerber of Strasburg, Strasburg High School, radiology technology major at Xavier University; Joshua A. Linerode of Dover, Strasburg High School, middle childhood education major at Mount Union College; Amber Neading of Bolivar, Tuscarawas Valley High School, early childhood education major at Malone University; Ashley Stoneking of Bolivar, Tuscarawas Valley High School, psychology major at Akron University; Danielle Cugliari of Dover, Tuscarawas Central Catholic, accounting major at Miami University.
