Registration now open for WCSD kindergarten

Wooster City Schools kindergarten registration for the 2021-22 school year is now open.

Children age 5 or older before Sept. 30 are eligible for kindergarten while those age 6 on or before that date are required to register for kindergarten for the 2021-22 school year. You must reside in the Wooster City School attendance boundaries to register for Wooster City Schools (see the boundaries map at www.woostercityschools.org/).

Step one for registering is completing the online kindergarten registration form using the district’s Final Forms application at www.wooster-oh.finalforms.com/. Make sure to choose 2021-22 when registering. If you do not already have a Final Forms Account linked to a current student, you will be asked to create one using an email address, and this account will be used each year to update your child’s information.

Email or call the building secretary below if assistance with online registration is required: Cornerstone Elementary, Tammy Lingle, wstr_tlingle@woostercityschools.org, 330-988-1111 ext. 4004; Kean Elementary, Jill Rubino, wstr_jirubino@woostercityschools.org, 330-988-1111 ext. 5500; Melrose Elementary, Bonnie Magers, wstr_bmagers@woostercityschools.org, 330-988-1111 ext. 3500; Parkview Elementary, Beth Jewell, wstr_bjewell@woostercityschools.org, 330-988-1111 ext. 4500; and Board of Education Office, Jill Ackerman, wstr_jackerman@woostercityschools.org, 330-988-1111 ext. 1241.

In the second step, documents will be required to complete the registration. Documents can be uploaded into Final Forms, faxed to 330-262-3407 or taken to the kindergarten screening appointment. Building secretaries will contact all incoming kindergarten students to schedule the screening time at a later date. Screening will be held the week of May 10 at the elementary building.

Documents needed are proof of residence such as signed rental agreement, mortgage statement, property-tax statement, utility bills for two-consecutive months or voter registration card; birth certificate, original is required; Social Security card for student (for identification purposes only); immunization records or immunization waiver; driver’s license or photo ID of parent/guardian; and legal documents (custody papers, etcetera) if applicable.

State regulations require you provide court-stamped documents only.
