Project allows for more inclusivity

The Tuscarawas County Board of Developmental Disabilities announced the completion of the universal changing tables project, in which universal changing tables for adults and children with disabilities were installed in collaboration with Dover Park and Tuscora Park. The project was made possible through an American Rescue Plan Act grant fund from the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities. These installations aim to enhance accessibility and inclusivity within the community.
Dover Park’s universal changing tables are located in pool houses and restrooms near the baseball fields and concession area. The changing table at Tuscora Park is located inside the Park Place Youth Center.
Installation is complete, and changing tables are ready for use.
“We are pleased to partner with our local parks,” said Nate Kamban, TuscBDD superintendent. “These universal changing tables represent a significant step toward creating more inclusive spaces where everyone can participate fully in community life.”
