Ohio’s Hospice holds annual butterfly release

More than 200 butterflies were released to remember loved ones after a program filled with music and reflections during the annual Celebrating Life’s Stories Butterfly Release held on the campus of Ohio’s Hospice in Wooster in June.

This year’s release raised nearly $14,000 to directly support patient care and services at the not-for-profit organization.

Community members gathered by the pond at Ohio’s Hospice campus in Wooster to remember and honor loved ones. After the ceremony some attendees chose to take butterflies for release at locations such as gardens or cemeteries. For those unable to attend, butterflies were released in their stead. The event extended to the Gault Inpatient Pavilion, where patients and families also participated in butterfly releases.

“We’re truly grateful to those that supported and attended our annual butterfly release,” said Katherine Grant, development director. “This event provides peaceful moments to remember loved ones as a community, and we are honored to provide this opportunity to celebrate.”

Ohio’s Hospice wishes to thank Wooster Color Point for its continued support as presenting sponsor for this event and the Romich Foundation for its in-kind support.
