Ohio-specific notary training is offered at the library

The Tuscarawas County Public Library System will host the Ohio Society of Notaries for an Ohio-specific notary training on Friday, Sept. 20 from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Tuscarawas County Main Library.
OSN President Roger Rill will lead the three-hour class for currently commissioned notaries or those interested in becoming a notary. Check-in will start at 10:45 a.m. with the course running from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The exam for new notaries will follow the course and generally lasts 30 minutes.
“People choose to be notaries for a variety of reasons, whether it is a request from their employer, to use in their business or as a part-time job,” adult and teen services manager Robyn Guedel said. “Whatever the reason, a thorough understanding of the process is necessary to pass the exam, and this Ohio Society of Notaries training offers help in both passing the exam and conducting the work.”
The cost of the class is $130 for new notaries and $75 for renewals. Checks/money orders are payable to the Ohio Society of Notaries and mailed to OSN, 3959 Cedric Lane, Dublin, OH 43016. For online payment and registration, visit www.neo-rls.org. The deadline is Sept. 19.
Space is limited, and registration is required. The Tuscarawas County Main Library is located at 121 Fair Ave. NW in New Philadelphia. Visit www.tusclibrary.org or call 330-364-4474.
