Local author’s book is chosen for OBOC event

The Tuscarawas County Literacy Coalition and the One Book One Community committee will host author Michael Gunther to discuss the One Book One Community selection, “Views From the Hot Seat,” on Monday, Nov. 6 at Founders’ Hall at Kent State Tuscarawas. This free community event will start at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Gunther will do a book-signing after the event.
Gunther is a lifetime resident of Tuscarawas County. He was raised in Gnadenhutten. Gunther was a teacher and basketball coach for Newcomerstown High School, Strasburg High School and Dover High School. Also, he was an English/writing adjunct professor at Walsh University.
Gunther was a founding committee member of One Book One Community for Tuscarawas County over 15 years ago.
“Views From the Hot Seat” is available for purchase on Amazon with the book proceeds going to Friends of the Homeless Shelter’s new building project in New Philadelphia. Copies also are available at the Tuscarawas County Public Library branches and the Dover Public Library.
