Leadership program welcomes applicants

Leadership Tuscarawas is accepting applications for the 2024-25 Signature Program Class through July 12. The class fills up fast, so early application is recommended.
The program focuses on developing the growth of participants as community leaders through interaction with local decision-makers and classmates representing diverse perspectives. Group interaction, teamwork and community-based projects are components of the experience.
The Signature Class will begin with a two-day opening retreat at Mohican Lodge and Convention Center Aug. 15-16. Following the retreat, participants will spend a day per month for the next nine months addressing specific aspects of the community.
Sessions are held at various locations around the county, providing participants with a broader understanding of the area while interacting with community business and civic leaders.
In addition to the community-based focus of the program, participants also experience over 30 leadership-development training modules that are designed to enhance their understanding of contemporary leadership practices to improve their performance at their place of employment.
Examples of professional-development topics include servant leadership, emotional intelligence, multisensory learning, personality-style assessment, diversity leadership, leading change, personal and business ethics, and influence/persuasion.
Individuals who live and/or work in Tuscarawas County may apply. Tuition is $2,000. Application and additional information can be found at www.kent.edu/tusc/bcs/leadership-tuscarawas.
