The Orrville Public Library has activities for all ages scheduled in December.

Cookbook Club

“Baking Yesteryear: The Best Recipes from the 1900s to the 1980s” will have you baking chocolate potato cake from the 1910s and an avocado pie from the 1960s. This decade-by-decade cookbook by B. Dylan Hollis includes past recipes and even a few of the worst.

Pick up a copy of the cookbook at Orrville Public Library’s circulation desk and plan to come to the meeting on Monday, Dec. 2 at 6 p.m. Prepare a dish or two to share with others. No registration is necessary.

For more information call the information desk at 330-683-1065.

Coffee & Crafts

Registration has begun for Orrville Public Library’s Coffee & Crafts, which will take place Thursday, Dec. 5. The group will use a small jar and various snowy supplies to make a miniature snow globe. This session will be at the Orrville YMCA, 1801 Smucker Road, at 6 p.m. This event is designed for age 16 and older.

Supplies are limited, and registration is required. Register by clicking the event on the library website calendar at www.orrville.lib.oh.us or by calling the information desk.

Reindeer Games

Registration has begun for Orrville Public Library’s story time featuring Santa’s reindeer friends. Bring kids age 2-5 to one of the free sessions on Tuesday, Dec. 10. Choose from time slots of 10:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m.

Register by clicking the event on the library website calendar or calling the children’s department.

Gingerbread house

Building a gingerbread house is a favorite holiday tradition for many families. Kids in kindergarten through fourth grade are invited to join the staff of Orrville Public Library for house-building on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 11 a.m. or 1 p.m.

This is a free event, and most supplies will be provided, but each registered participant should bring a bag of candy to share with others for house decorating.

Register through the calendar on the library website or call the children’s department.
