It’s positivity versus negativity

It’s positivity versus negativity

To the Independents, undecideds, uncommitteds and disenchanted Republicans:

OK, so here is how we see it:

—Vote yes on Issue 1. Hundreds of thousands of Ohioans put their signatures on petitions to get this issue on the ballot. Ohioans want fellow citizens, not politicians, to draw up fair maps for voting. The only way to stop gerrymandering is to vote yes on Issue 1. Ignore the purposely confusing ballot language.

—Vote for Sherrod Brown. He has been invaluable to Ohio labor. He has teamed up with Republican Sen. Todd Young to introduce legislation that would crack down on unfair trade practices. He helped pass the bipartisan infrastructure law, which is already bringing in $11 billion to Ohio to fix roads and bridges and upgrade public transportation. He helped pass the CHIPS and Science Act, which is bringing Intel to New Albany and creating other manufacturing jobs. The federal government is required to only buy U.S. flags made in the U.S. because of a law introduced by Brown and signed by the president.

—Vote for Harris and Walz. Democracy, decency and governing for the people are at stake. Even if their policies don’t align perfectly with yours, they will give us the best chance of moving forward out of the past. We don’t need perfect. We need better. It’s positivity versus negativity.

You don’t have to tell anyone. Whether you cast your ballot early — voting started Oct. 8 — or on Nov. 5, it is a secret ballot. It is your business.
