Houghton Pottery program Aug. 13 at Dalton Historical Society
Houghton Pottery From Clay to Acclaim will be held Tuesday, Aug. 13 at 6:30 p.m. at the Dalton Community Historical Society, 115 E. Main St., Dalton. During the free program, learn about utilitarian ware and art pottery featuring collectors Phil and Barb Hostetler, who will share some of their collection of Houghton pottery.

Houghton Pottery From Clay to Acclaim will be held Tuesday, Aug. 13 at 6:30 p.m. at the Dalton Community Historical Society, 115 E. Main St., Dalton.

During the free program, learn about utilitarian ware and art pottery featuring collectors Phil and Barb Hostetler, who will share some of their collection of Houghton pottery. The program also will include a review of the history of the pottery, their first location, when they moved to the east end of town and more. There also will be a viewing of a film shot inside the pottery from the 1930s.

Light refreshments will be served.

The Dalton Community Historical Society is open the first Sunday of each month from 1-4 p.m., holds open houses throughout the year and is open by appointment.

Dalton Community Historical Society meetings are held the second Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m., and new members are always welcome. The annual membership cost is $15 for an individual, $25 for a couple, $35 for a business, $1 for a student and $200 for a lifetime membership.
