Holmes Disc Golf Club holds spring tourney

The Holmes County Disc Golf Club held its spring tournament on Saturday, May 11 at Deer Run Park in Millersburg. In spite of the sometimes heavy rain in the morning, 27 players sloshed their way through the course chasing victory.

For this tournament the club offered two divisions: Division I for players who usually shoot under par and Div. II for those who usually shoot over par. Henry Schlabach won Div. I with 16 under par for the day, shooting the day’s hot round of 10 under par in the afternoon. Second place came down to a tie between Austin Shetler and Matthias Hilty. It took two playoff holes to crown Shelter the second-place winner.

In Div. II, DC Roth took first place, and Steve Reno Haney took second. The longest drive of the day went to Javier Pryor and the longest putt to Anthony Hilty.
