Historic collection of dental tools and teeth to be shared
The Tuscarawas County Public Library System’s Main Library will host a program titled Filling the Gap: An 18th Century Dental Experience on April 11 at 6:30 p.m.
Attendees will learn about historic and modern dental practices when local expert and registered dental hygienist Malissa Fox shares her historic collection of dental tools and teeth.
“I’ve seen Malissa’s collection and demonstrations at local history events,” public service associate Laura Hanna said. “The audience is sure to be impressed.”
Fox’s collection will allow attendees to see the tools dentists used as well as the options people in the 18th century had to replace their teeth. Individuals will be able to ask questions.
To register for this free program, visit the library’s online registration calendar at www.tusclibrary.org or call 330-364-4474 ext. 101.
The library is located at 121 Fair Ave. NW in New Philadelphia.
