August craft kit for teens
Teens can come into the Central Library to pick up a craft kit with supplies to make a bloomin’ baked apple.
Ventriloquist Mark Merchant
Experience this all-ages program featuring comedian and ventriloquist Mark Merchant at the Central Library on Monday, Aug. 5 at 11 a.m.
Where does time go?
Join Kate Shumaker, OSU Extension educator, as she discusses tools to prioritize time with family, work and more at the Central Library on Thursday, Aug. 8 at 6 p.m. Registration is required.
Paws to read
Children are invited to read to a certified therapy dog from Caring Therapy Canines at the Central Library on Saturday, Aug. 10 from 11 a.m. to noon.
Paper squishie fun
Children age 6-12 will color, cut, tape and stuff their paper squishie creation at the Central Library on Monday, Aug. 19 at 5:30 p.m. Registration is required.
Author visit
Brandon Weis, author of “This Is Gonna Hurt,” will share how he set out to hike over 7,000 miles in one year at the Central Library on Thursday, Aug. 22 at 6 p.m. Registration is required.
Family movie matinee
“IF” will be shown on the big screen at the Central Library on Saturday, Aug. 24 at 11 a.m. The PG movie is about a girl who discovers she can see everyone’s imaginary friend. Bring a comfy chair or blanket, a snack and a drink. Children must be with an adult.
Book discussion for adults
The event will be held Tuesday, Aug. 27 discussing “The Bullet Swallower” by Elizabeth Gonzalez James at the Central Library at 1 p.m. and “The Little Old Lady Who Broke All the Rules” by Catharina Ingelman-Sundberg at Jitters Coffee House in Millersburg at 6 p.m.
Story times
For kids age 2-5 with an adult, there will be story time at the East Branch Library on Wednesday, Aug. 28 at 10:30 a.m. and the Central Library on Friday, Aug. 30 at 10:30 a.m.
Little learners playgroup
Kids up to age 5 with an adult will engage in activities to promote reading and social skills at the Central Library on Friday, Aug. 30 at 11 a.m. Snacks will be provided.
