The Holmes County Disc Golf Club held its first Trilogy Challenge Tournament on Sept. 28 at Deer Run Park in Millersburg.

“What made this tournament different from other tournaments is that each player gets the same three discs to play with,” said Doug Gray, tournament director. “Experienced players can carry anywhere from 10-30 discs in their backpacks, so playing the course with just three discs creates a real challenge.”

While it took the players a few holes to learn their new discs, by the end of the tournaments, players in both divisions turned in some impressive scores. In Division I, Alan Hilty managed to shoot 12 under par to take first place with Chase Barstow right behind in second at 11-under.

In Div. II, Josh Miller took first place at 5-under and Doug Craiglow took second at 4-under. Barstow won the prize for the longest drive, and Craiglow made the longest putt.

The HCDGC would like to thank its sponsors — Hershberger Lawn Structures of Millersburg, Keim in Charm and Dynamic Discs — for making the disc golf event possible. The HCDGC will wrap up its season with Thursday Night League play, ending the last Thursday of October.
