Friends of Ohio Barns holding a tour in Tuscarawas County

Friends of Ohio Barns board and members invite the public to attend the 23rd annual barn tour and conference in Tuscarawas County on Thursday, April 25 through Saturday, April 27. Registration includes an all-day bus tour of barns and lunch on Friday and Saturday’s conference featuring educational presentations, lunch, Barn of the Year awards, a member meeting and the silent auction. Reservations are required online only at www.friendsofohiobarns.org/annual-conference.
To kick off the conference on Thursday afternoon, registered guests will have the opportunity to tour the Ernest Warther Museum and Gardens at 2 p.m., followed by a tour of the Reeves House. Included in the cost is a wine and cheese tasting in the carriage house. Space is limited and first come, first served with registration required.
Friday’s barn bus tour includes a dairy barn with some unusual features. Following lunch will be a chance to see a functional spring house dated the same as the double-crib log barn on the property. Participants will travel the county to see other historic timber-framed barns. This event sells out quickly and is on a first come, first served basis with a limited amount of seats still available.
The three-day event concludes with the conference on Saturday at Buckeye Career Center, which consists of the annual FOB business meeting, silent auction and featured speakers. A light breakfast and catered lunch will be provided. Space is limited, and advanced registration is required.
Be sure to bring your treasures to donate for the silent auction, which raises funds to help defray conference costs.
