Free summer camps offered at county library system

Books are not the only offerings at the Tuscarawas County Public Library System. The county library system will host a variety of free summer camps to be held across its five locations throughout the summer months. The camps, which provide hands-on learning experiences for all ages, are on a variety of topics and run at various times throughout the summer months.
“During the summer it’s a great time to learn a new skill and explore topics by attending day camps,” children’s services manager Mary Smrek said. “This summer the county library will be offering some fun and informative camps for the community to enjoy.”
Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in specialty programs and explore subjects like art, STEAM, spy, crafting and more. The camps, which vary in length from one day to a series, are for a variety of ages from kindergarten through 12th grade.
Smrek said an aspect that sets apart the county library camps is they are free.
“Camps can be expensive, especially when more than one member of the family wants to attend a camp,” Smrek said. “The camps offered at our library system are not only fun and informative, but there is no cost to attend.”
A complete listing of camps being offered this summer can be found in the library’s programming newsletter that is available at each of the five library locations or on the library’s website at www.tusclibrary.org.
