Dover songwriter to perform at the library

Josh Compton, teacher, artist and musician from Dover, will perform a variety of songs from his album “The Big Trail & Other Ballads of Tuscarawas” at the Dover Public Library on Tuesday, May 7 at 6:30 p.m. These songs tell the story of Tuscarawas County and the key role it played in the American Revolutionary War. Compton also will talk about and answer questions about the songs and the project. Compton will sign CDs after the program.
Compton graduated with a degree in visual art and art education from Kent State University. He teaches art for the Dover City Schools. He also writes music, plays the guitar and creates art. This year, with the assistance of various grants, Compton released this album of songs that tell the story of his home county of Tuscarawas.
