Becky Detwiler, curator of the Alpine Hills Museum in Sugarcreek, will be the guest speaker at the Lunch & Learn program on Wednesday, Sept. 4 at 12:15 p.m. at the Tuscarawas County Senior Center.

She will share the history of the people who traveled from Switzerland to settle in the Sugarcreek area. Several artifacts from the museum will be on display during the program. Detwiler also will talk about the upcoming Ohio Swiss Festival.

“Those of us who have had the pleasure of growing up in and around Tuscarawas County have all been to the Ohio Swiss Festival at some point,” said Linda Toohey, librarian at the senior center. “I look forward to hearing what brought the people of Swiss heritage to the area.”

This program is part of the Lunch & Learn series sponsored by the Dover Public Library on the first Wednesday of every month. All programs of this series will be held at the Tuscarawas County Senior Center, 425 Prospect St., Dover.

Call Toohey at the senior center or call the library at 330-343-6123.
