Two Claymont FFA members qualified and competed in the State Preliminary Job Interview Career Development Event.

Braxtyn Myers and Gemma Dotts recently showcased their skills and professionalism at the State Preliminary Job Interview CDE. At this event, designed to simulate real-world job application and interview processes, they created resumes, cover letters and job applications and did virtual interviews and follow-up letters.

To qualify for this contest, Myers and Dotts competed at both the subdistrict and district level. Only one member in each division is permitted to move on from the district level to the state. This year Myers placed second in Division I, and Dotts placed fifth in Div. IV.

The Claymont High School agriculture program currently has 65 students. The program offers a variety of classes including agriculture, food and natural resources; animal and plant science; animal anatomy and physiology; greenhouse management; and food science.
