Class of '53 celebrates

The Uhrichsville Class of 1953 celebrated its 70th class reunion at the community room in Buehler's in Dover on Aug. 19. The 10 class members and guests first met in the community room for a brief reacquainted period before having a dinner at the Mill Restaurant.

Following dinner, they returned to the community room for dessert and coffee and several hours of fellowship.

A large table held a display of various pictures, scrapbooks and other memorabilia from the days of being a Uhrichsville Tiger. The class has held 12 five-year reunions through the years, and beginning in 2016, they have held seven annual reunions with the exception of 2020 when COVID-19 prohibited social gatherings.

The '53 UHS class had 85 graduating seniors with 30 still living. Donna Johnson Poulson and Robert Archer are responsible for the success of the reunions through the years. The class will continue its reunion tradition by meeting next in the community meeting room on Aug. 17, 2024.
