TuscParks’ Luminary Trail Walk will take place Dec. 7 from 5-7 p.m. This event invites families and friends to experience the charm of the Norma Johnson Center.

The event will begin at the Preservation Loop Kiosk next to the yellow pole barn on state Route 39 in Dover. Admission is free, though donations are appreciated to support ongoing programs and future events.

Guests can expect to experience a soft glow from numerous luminaries lining the quarter-mile trail that meanders through the pine forest. The walk leads to the Preservation Pond, providing a backdrop for families to enjoy.

Upon arrival participants will be greeted with a cup of hot chocolate and cookies.

The event is designed for people of all ages.

The walking trail features elements of safety and accessibility. As guests stroll along this route, they will be reminded of the beauty of winter wildlife and silence. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

The Luminary Trail Walk is set against the backdrop of the history of the Norma Johnson Center, a place that embodies the commitment of the local community to protect and enhance natural spaces. It was established in response to the vision of Norma Johnson, who dedicated her life to preserving natural beauty for future generations. The campus hosts various trails, educational programs and conservation initiatives.

This annual event promotes environmental awareness and invites participants to reflect on their connection to the land.

As the event draws closer, it’s essential to stay informed about potential weather-related changes. The Luminary Trail Walk will occur weather permitting. To stay updated, visitors are encouraged to check the TuscParks Facebook page.
