Career center students excel in Skills USA

Members of Buckeye Career Center’s Skills USA chapter have qualified for the 72nd annual Ohio Skills USA State Championships.
Qualifiers include gold winners Tyler Sterling (auto collision/Carrollton) in Automotive Refinishing, Thomas Watson (law enforcement/Tusky Valley) in Criminal Justice and Gracelyn Donehue (cosmetology/Tusky Valley) in Nail Care. Silver winners include Sofia Bierhorst (graphic arts/Dover) in Advertising Design and Elizabeth Patrick (cosmetology/Carrollton) in Aesthetics. Bronze winners include Landon Shepler (electrical systems technology/Strasburg) in Job Interview and Ethan Harsh (graphic arts/Carrollton) in Job Skills Demo.
State qualifiers will compete at the Ohio championships April 9-10 in Columbus for a chance to qualify for nationals. Several other BCC students also will compete at state in competitions that do not require a regional appearance.
