Author Mary Tipton to speak at HCGS program

Mary Tipton will talk about two legends from her latest book, “Holmes County Ohio Hair Raisers.”

Tipton, co-author with her sisters of books about Holmes County, will present a free program about the Legend of Panthers Hollow and the Legend of the Headless Angel on Thursday, Aug. 24 at 7 p.m. in the banquet room of American Legion Post 192.

The program is being hosted by the Holmes County Genealogical Society.

The sisters published their first book, “Once Upon a Town ... The Story of Lakeville, Ohio,” in 2019.

The post is located at 264 W. Jackson St. in Millersburg. The banquet room is accessible by the ramp at the rear of the building.

The regular monthly meeting of the Holmes County Genealogical Society will follow the presentation. Guests are invited to attend the meeting.
