ACWH Career Center holds Nov. BOE meeting

The Ashland County-West Holmes Joint Vocational School District Board of Education held a regular meeting in the board room on Nov. 16.

The board did the following during the meeting:

—Recognized October Student of the Month recipients Alexis Leadbetter, junior, animal vet tech, Lexington High School; Amasa Maynard, senior, mechanical engineering, West Holmes High School; and Annette Craft, adult education, electrical technologies.

—Recognized ACWH Career Center students who achieved honor roll status with all A’s and students who received honor roll status with all A’s and B’s for the first nine-week grading period in the 2023-24 school year.

—Recognized ACWH Career Center students who achieved perfect attendance for the first nine-week grading period in the 2023-24 school year.

—Approved the five-year forecast for fiscal years 2024-28 and submitted it to the Ohio Department of Education.

—Approved the adult education advisory committees for the 2023-24 school year.

—Accepted a donation from J.R. Noe and Caliber Collision of Chief Frame Pulling System for the auto body lab and a donation from Stanley Black & Decker of a tool package for mechanical engineering.

—Approved the employment of certified/classified personnel as substitutes.

—Approved the resignation of Paul Liu.

—Approved the employment of Bradley Salois, automotive technology instructor.

—Approved an amendment to the employment of Rick Price, adult education part-time certified personnel, effective 2022-23 contract year.

—Approved/ratification of the memorandum of understanding to implement the Broader Vaccination Network program.

—Approved an increase in the substitute salary schedule.

The next board meeting is scheduled for Dec. 21 at 6 p.m.
