A Millersburg man is in stable condition after being shot in Glenmont

A Millersburg man is in stable condition after being shot in the chest at a Glenmont bar.

Joshua D. Etzwiler, 25, 5484 Township Road 258, is hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the chest at Akron City Hospital following a Saturday shooting, according to Holmes County Sheriff’s office reports.

Devan Sickles, 27, 226 Elm Street, Coshocton, has been arrested on a charge of felonious assault in the shooting.

According to sheriff’s reports, Sickles shot Etzwiler in the upper chest with a .22 rifle outside the Glenmont Tavern. Sickles fled the scene of the shooting and was arrested early Sunday morning with the assistance of the Coshocton County Sheriff’s office.

Sheriff’s reports indicate Etzwiler had been involved in an altercation with a friend of Sickles’ prior to 11:27 p.m., when the shooting was reported.

Etzwiler was transported to Pomerene Hospital by Richland Township EMS and was later flown via medical helicopter to Akron City.

The Glenmont Police Department is assisting in the investigation. Anyone with information regarding the shooting should call the Holmes County Sheriff’s office at 330-674-1936.
