The Marlboro Township Historical Society is asking the community to help place 411 wreaths on veterans’ graves at Marlboro Cemetery during its Dec. 13 Wreaths Across America ceremony.

The Marlboro Township Historical Society is taking part in this year’s Wreaths Across America ceremony, set for Dec. 13 at noon at Marlboro Cemetery, 13171 Marlboro Ave. NE in Alliance. This marks the organization’s fifth year participating in the national effort to honor fallen American service members.

The group’s goal is to place 411 wreaths — one for each veteran buried in the cemetery — and organizers are asking the public to help sponsor wreaths and volunteer on Wreaths Across America Day. Volunteers placing wreaths are encouraged to “say their name” to ensure each veteran’s service and sacrifice is remembered.

Wreaths are $17 each, and sponsorships support Wreaths Across America’s year-round mission to “Remember the Fallen, Honor Those Who Serve, and Teach the Next Generation the Value of Freedom.” As of Nov. 20, the Marlboro Township Historical Society had reached just over half its goal.

Organizers are urging the community to help them honor every veteran resting in Marlboro Township Cemetery. Sponsorship information is available at wreathsacrossamerica.org/OH0287P.

Thank you for supporting the Marlboro Township Historical Society and Wreaths Across America.
