Summer Stage Wooster Showcase set for 4 shows

Todd Patterson, artistic director, and Guinevere Steensen, assistant director, announced the Summer Stage Wooster Showcase, which will offer four performances for the community.
The Summer Stage Wooster Showcase will take place at Wooster High School’s Performing Arts Center on Friday, July 21 at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, July 22 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, July 23 at 2 p.m.
The showcase will feature many Summer Stage Wooster youths and adults including new faces joining Summer Stage Wooster for the first time. A total of 29 performers will be on the stage.
Musical Director Toni Shreve will lead a live orchestra of six musicians on stage. Stephanie Musselman, the showcase’s choreographer, will make this her 110th choreographed show in her career.
General admission tickets are $10 and can be bought online at www.summerstagewooster.org. There will be seating on the stage in a black box setting. Tickets are limited.
Summer Stage Wooster also announced it has been awarded two recent grants. With the audience, musicians and performers sharing the stage for its showcase, it created the need for lighting flexibility beyond existing equipment at the WHS Performing Arts Center.
Steensen wrote two grants for LED lights and supportive equipment, which were awarded to Summer Stage Wooster: a $6,000 grant from the Robert and Esther Black Family Foundation through the Richland County Foundation and a $2,855.24 grant from an anonymous community fund through the Wayne County Community Foundation. The lights will serve as an asset to area performers for years to come.
Summer Stage Wooster is a nonprofit 501(c)(3), founded in 2012.
