Medina City Schools showcases student learning at Portrait to Practice event
Annual Portrait to Practice event highlights real-world learning at Medina High School
Medina City Schools hosted its third annual Portrait to Practice event March 12 at Medina High School. The gymnasium featured students at every grade level highlighting their learning, creativity and leadership.
The event included approximately 40 student displays, where learners presented their deeper learning projects to families, staff members and community guests. Each project demonstrated how students are applying critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and real-world problem-solving – key competencies that bring the district’s Portrait of a Bee to life.
Throughout the evening, students shared innovative ideas and meaningful connections between classroom learning and real-world experiences. Attendees had the opportunity to interact with students as they explained their projects, described their learning processes and reflected on the impact of their work.
Hearing students articulate their thinking and growth was a highlight of the event, illustrating how Medina City Schools is fostering real-world experiences that empower students to take ownership of their learning.
The annual Portrait to Practice event continues to showcase how Medina students are transforming learning into meaningful action while developing the skills needed for future success.
