You made Jesus your choice
Angela Chapman shares a heartfelt poem on finding peace and protection through Jesus
There’s solace in your presence, Lord; I want to stay.
Your peace surrounds me; it’s your way.
Under your wings there’s safety there.
It’s quiet, and I know you care.
There’s refuge from the storms that continually hit,
But around me are your wings that I may sit.
A peace tranquil like no other,
It’s beautiful with gently flowing water.
I envision my father holding me close,
My cares and pains ... all of it he knows.
He holds my head upon his chest.
“My child,” he says, “It’s OK, just rest.”
Relieved of all fears because that’s what Jesus does.
“Fear not, I’m with thee” is how he extravagantly loves.
He is my strong tower; I’m preserved in his care,
Every part of my being, every strand of my hair.
“The apple of my eye,” he says to me.
“You’re loved and favored in tranquility.”
In the palms of his hands, I’m gently caressed.
The care from the Lord is the absolute best.
I’m calm and free ...
With not one worry.
Whom shall I fear?
My Lord is right here.
Jesus is the good shepherd who watches his sheep.
If a wolf tries to scurry, God is not asleep.
The assurance from the Lord is comforting,
And his protection is unwavering.
“Peace be still,” as Jesus calms the seas.
Ripples become calm because the enemy flees.
My heart gently pounds at the sound of his voice.
“My child, I’m with you as you’ve made me your choice.”
