Six Pirates earn championships at home tournament

Garaway wrestling claims Peg Leg Scuffle title

The Garaway wrestling team won the Peg Leg Scuffle Jan. 24 at Garaway High School.

Bryce Books (106 pounds), Mitchell Tetreault (150), Matt Frey (175), Dillon King (190), Thomas Grimm (215) and Bobby Bowers (heavyweight) all won titles for the Pirates.

Colton Domer (165) placed second, Jaylen Jimenez (157) placed third and Brennon Featheringham (120) placed fifth.

Boys basketball

Hiland picked up a 71-42 victory over Garaway in Inter-Valley Conference play Jan. 23.

Micah Yoder (13 points), Jaxon Garber (eight) and Tanner Rowe (eight) led the Pirates.
