Tornadoes secure 70-57 win with decisive third quarter on Feb. 3.
West Muskingum holds off Coshocton
West Muskingum erupted out of halftime and used a decisive third quarter to secure a 70-57 victory over Coshocton Tuesday, Feb. 3 in The Wigwam.
The Tornadoes opened the second half with a 15-0 run, setting the tone for the remainder of the quarter. West Muskingum outscored Coshocton 24-9 in the third frame, turning a tight contest into a comfortable advantage.
Coshocton battled back in the fourth quarter and cut the deficit to four points, but West Muskingum responded down the stretch to seal the win.
Coshocton was paced by Champ Haley, who scored 20 points, while JJ Herman added 17.
Hiland cruises past Ridgewood
Hiland turned a close game at halftime into a runaway win Tuesday, Feb. 3, defeating Ridgewood 64-25 in Berlin.
The Hawks held a 29-18 advantage at the break before putting the game out of reach in dominant fashion during the third quarter. Hiland outscored Ridgewood 24-2 in the period, using stifling defense and an efficient offensive attack to seize full control.
Ridgewood was paced by Jackson Cabot, who scored eight points. Logan Ridenbaugh and Jace McQueen each chipped in six for the Generals.
Warsaw rolls past Coshocton Christian
Warsaw wasted no time setting the tone, jumping out to an early lead and cruising to a 58-32 victory over Coshocton Christian in boys basketball action at Kids America.
The Warriors stormed out of the gate, building a commanding 21-3 advantage after the first quarter and extending the lead to 33-10 at halftime, leaving little doubt about the outcome the rest of the way.
Cyrus Deeds led the offensive charge for Warsaw, pouring in 21 points. Clayton Strohl added 12 points while Mobius Williams chipped in 11 as the Warriors showcased balanced scoring throughout the lineup.
Coshocton Christian was led by Grier Johnson with 10 points. Jameson Brillhart finished with six, and Dylan Wright and Owen Wetzel each contributed five in the loss.
