Queens enjoy holiday magic at Roscoe Village
Visiting royalty join Coshocton Canal Court for Christmas Tea before the Dec. 6 candlelighting
There is something extra special about Roscoe Village at Christmastime.
“It’s the atmosphere,” Coshocton Canal Queen Jamie Lassen said. “It’s classic and just so beautiful. It brings you back to the old-time Christmas that everyone loves and sees in the movies.”
Lassen and her court hosted a Christmas Tea prior to the first Roscoe Village Candlelighting Dec. 6. Visiting royalty were invited to come enjoy snacks, drinks, crafts and social time before heading to the village for the ceremony.
Bri Fink and Nora Harstine have both been part of the Coshocton Canal Court and were happy to be back at Roscoe Village with their new titles from different programs.
“I have a really deep history with Roscoe,” Fink said. “I love it greatly, and I love the Coshocton Canal Court. Christmas is my favorite time of year, and any chance I get to celebrate it, I’m all about it.”
Fink is the current Miss Baltimore Festival Queen, and Harstine is the Hometown Hearts Young Miss.
“I also love Christmas,” Harstine said. “It’s my favorite holiday of the year. I love coming to all the Christmas events I can. Celebrating Christmas is one of my favorite things to do.”
Coshocton Canal Court Committee member Maddy Meiser said the tea is a fundraiser for the court. She welcomed everyone to the village and the tea before turning the microphone over to Lassen.
“Welcome everyone,” Lassen said. “It’s a little cold outside, but it’s going to be great.”
She was the honorary candlelighter at the evening’s program in the heart of village.
“I’m so excited to see everyone and get to do all the cool things in the village,” Lassen said.
She also invited all the visiting queens back for the Apple Butter Stirrin' Festival in October 2026.
“We have plenty of vendors, time period music and a little bit of everything, so definitely come check it out,” Lassen said.
There is one more weekend to experience the holiday magic of Roscoe Village. The final candlelighting of the season will be Saturday, Dec. 13. Enjoy complimentary hot-mulled cider and cookies, roasted chestnuts, and other holiday festivities. The Christmas Candlelighting will be held at 6 p.m. at the main stage in the village. Admission and parking are free.
