Coshocton Scouts head to National Jamboree

Local Scouts join 30,000 peers in West Virginia for a week of adventure and learning

This summer I will attend the Boy Scouts of America’s National Jamboree at Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia July 22-31, along with six other Scouts from Coshocton County.

We will be part of 30,000 Scouts attending. There will be Scouts going to West Virginia from every state. The National Jamboree only happens every four years. There will be activities at Jamboree like white water rafting, zip-lining, a shooting range, rock climbing, scuba diving, a lot of patch trading and many more activities. I am most excited about the experience and scuba diving.

I have been in Scouts for seven years, and over the years, I have learned how to be responsible and take care of myself. I also have learned how to tie many knots and how to make friends with new people I meet. Scouts has given me many opportunities to learn and try new things.

If you are looking into joining Scouts, call the Muskingum Valley Council to find a pack or troop to join.
