Coshocton Book Fest seeks authors, vendors
Event set for July 25 at Lake Park Pavilion; registration open for authors and food vendors.
The first Coshocton Book Fest will be held Saturday, July 25 at the Lake Park Pavilion from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Maida Surdyk, organizer of the fest, is looking for authors who would like to have a table. She also is looking for vendors who create book-related items.
“I went to my first book festival last year — the Newark Book Fest. I really enjoyed it and thought this would be a great event to have in Coshocton. At the Newark Book Fest, I shared a table with another author from Northern Ohio. She said it was a long drive for her. I know Coshocton isn’t too far from Newark, but I’m hoping authors who felt Newark was too far will feel better about Coshocton,” Surdyk said.
The book fest isn’t open to just local authors. It is open to all authors, and there are already authors from out of state signed up to be part of it. Tables are eight feet and will be shared by two authors. The cost is $35 for half a table.
“I only had a few tables set aside for full tables, and they are all full. I have been putting those who want a full at a half table and adding them to a wait list for a full. I have a few that have not paid yet. If they don’t pay by the invoice date, those tables will open up to the wait list,” Surdyk said.
To register, visit the Coshocton Book Fest Facebook page or email or call Surdyk at khyber3@aol.com or 740-291-7403. She also is looking for food vendors for the festival.
