On Aug. 20 we welcomed students back for the 2025-26 school year, and it was wonderful to see our classrooms, hallways and playgrounds filled with energy and excitement. The joy of a new school year exemplifies the heart of our mission: empowering all learners with the opportunities and encouragement they need to realize their potential.
We are excited to welcome several new teachers and staff members this year. Their talent, experience and enthusiasm will help us continue to provide high-quality learning experiences for all students.
As we begin the year, I also want to highlight the progress we’ve made through our district’s strategic plan. Over the past three years, it has guided our work in five key areas:
—Academic advancement and professional learning.
—Climate, culture and mental wellness.
—Positive behavior management and prevention.
—Communication, community engagement and school pride.
—Business operations and human resources.
Thanks to the dedication of our staff, students and families, we’ve made meaningful strides across these areas. We’ve expanded learning opportunities to prepare students with 21st-century skills and strengthened mental health resources and support systems in coordination with families. We’ve also improved internal and external communication to keep staff, families and the community informed.
Our ongoing focus on long-term planning will guide us in making strategic decisions to continue strengthening our district.
Thank you, as always, for your partnership and support of Wooster City Schools. Together, we are building a bright future for our community.
Gabe Tudor is superintendent of Wooster City Schools.
