Pink Friday encourages shoppers to support small businesses ahead of Black Friday
Orrville’s Salt & Honey joins nationwide celebration Nov. 21 with specials, giveaways and community-focused events.
Salt & Honey announced its participation in Pink Friday, a nationwide event dedicated to celebrating and supporting small, local businesses. Taking place Friday, Nov. 21, Pink Friday serves as a reminder to shop small before the consumer-focused frenzy of Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
In 2024 more than 5,000 retailers from all 50 states participated to inspire shoppers across North America to invest in their local communities. Pink Friday is a celebration of the businesses that keep main streets and downtowns alive, and for many small businesses, it has become the largest sales day of the year.
Unlike Black Friday, Pink Friday is not just about steep discounts and racing to the checkout; it is about building enduring customer relationships and supporting small businesses.
“Small businesses are more than just stores; they’re gathering places, job creators and the heartbeat of our communities,” said Ashley Alderson, founder and CEO of The Boutique Hub and Pink Friday.
Special plans are in place for Pink Friday. Exclusive item sales, a wish-list giveaway and more are planned, and Blend of Grace will serve signature drinks. Those who sign up ahead of the event for emails or text messages will receive a gift card delivered to their inbox to use that day.
Salt & Honey, a family-owned small business, has been part of this national event for the past three years.
Salt & Honey is located at 147 N. Main St. in Orrville.
