Tuscarawas Arts Partnership will host a professional development workshop for artists and arts organizations, ArtsThrive Workshop: Grant Writing That Wins, Saturday, March 7, from 9 a.m. to noon at the First Federal Financial Education Center in Dover. Doors open at 8:30 a.m., with a complimentary continental breakfast.
The workshop, requested by the arts community over several years, is designed to provide artists, board members and cultural organizations with tools and strategies to pursue grant funding. The event is sponsored by First Federal Community Bank.
Grant Writing That Wins will include panel discussions and presentations on finding funding opportunities, writing stronger grant proposals and communicating the impact of creative work. The workshop is intended for both beginners and those looking to sharpen their approach.
The program will open with a panel discussion featuring Diane Lautenschleger, Keith Green and David Mitchell. Panelists will discuss what funders look for in applications, common proposal gaps, lessons from real-world grant writing and grant resources in Tuscarawas County, including how emerging tools such as artificial intelligence are shaping the field.
Additional speakers include John Maxwell, vice president and grantmaking committee chair of the Tuscarawas County Community Foundation, who will present Making the Case: What Funders Wish You Knew Before You Apply, and Patrick Roehrenbeck, organizational program coordinator for the Ohio Arts Council, who will discuss Ohio Arts Council grant programs and statewide funding opportunities.
TAP staff members Wilma Mullet and Mary Maxwell will also share insights during the workshop based on their experience preparing grants for Tuscarawas Arts Partnership and other regional arts organizations.
Tickets are $5, with an option to donate additional funds to support TAP’s education fund. Registration and payment are available at givebutter.com/artsthrive26.
